Prim (Concept sketch for Shining Soul 2 comic)

Concept sketch I made of Shining Soul 2's Prim (aka Paige) for a project I did a couple of years back when I was taking art classes. I was putting together a short one-page comic of an scene from Shining Soul 2, with the intention of making a series of comics following the game as Prim in a "here's how it REALLY went down" sort of parody. Sadly, it was during a year I'd just started full time work again, and that coupled with 3-4hr commutes each day burnt up any time for finishing it (though at ~66% complete with the backgrounds being the main thing to add, it's something I hope to get round to finishing some day).

As per my usual impression of Prim, she follows the "small girl* with huge weapon" trope with her oversized flails, as well as a "takes no bull****" attitude. It was also a chance for me to remind myself of the niggly bits of her outfit that I'd often miss in previous sketches of her (such as her hood and tabbard), as well as work on body shapes and poses.

* I use the term "girl" loosely for Prim - whilst SS2 gives the impression that the playable characters are young children, I tend to give Prim a "I'M NOT A CHILD, I'M JUST SHORT!" attitude that no-one else seems to notice...

Drawn with a 2B mechanical pencil, with watercolour pencils for colouring and shading, and a 3B and/or 6B pencil for the shadows and flail shading.
